Cannot stress enough how important it is to have the old ball joint clean before you attempt to remove it. I like to remove the rubber boot as well to make sure the socket grips the ball joint securely. If you round it off, it causes hell trying to remove it. Great video!!
Yes, the hub nut must be loosened, because when mounting/dismantling the lever, it is necessary to move the hub away by pulling the drive from it. AUTODOC
excellent video .. nice use of copper grease and spray. loved the, how to lock the hub using a screwdriver in the heavily corroded disc .I screw in a couple of wheel bolts and bridge them with a jemmy.
To assemble this mechanism back, you need to release the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut. Since the shock absorber tension makes it difficult to put the ball joint on the lever.
They also don't show you that you'll need an impact wrench with more than 700nm nut busting capability. The lower arm can be pushed down enough with a long bar without all the other nonsense shown. Put it back the same way with bar...

anyone doing this DIY will have to stop the caliper moving because if you don't the risk of pulling out the driveshaft from the gearbox is greater and you'll end up in the $$$ to fix it.
We cannot show all the nuances and problems when replacing, this is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend that replacements be made at specialized services.

One of the best videos I have seen, especially I like when the torque values are given, very informative, great video
Thank you for sharing your opinion with us.
Is it really necessary to loosen the hub nut, will the lower arm not pull down?
Yes, the hub nut must be loosened, because when mounting/dismantling the lever, it is necessary to move the hub away by pulling the drive from it.

Also be careful when disconnecting rotor from strut, you don't want to pull the drive shaft out of the gearbox
Thank you for your comment, this is useful information for us and the viewers.

What is purpose of bolt at 1:00 ?
The bolt at fragment 1:00 of this video is required for fixing the brake disc, so that it makes possible to unscrew the shaft nut.
Could have used an impact wrench shown later in video

The chain on the ball joint splitter is a good idea, these do have a tendency to fly off.
Thanks for your feedback! Please clarify or rephrase your question.
Is the socket used a normal 41mm hex or isit a specialised socket ?
Normal 41mm but it must be a long socket. Short socket will not fit.
3:07 muhtemelen 230 Nm olacak autodoc pdf ve başka kılavuzda 230 yazıyor videoya yanlış yazılmış
Yes, you are right, the correct moment is 230 Nm, it will be useful for us. Thank you for your attentiveness.
Funny how the torque on the 307 is 115nm but on the 308 is 230nm. Same design in ball joints. Makes me wonder if is right.
For more precise information, please refer to your vehicle's repair documentation.
They're wrong... it's 230 Nm for the 307
Anyone know the depth of that 41mm socket?
Thank you for your comment!
The total length of part 1100SLG-41 HAZET in this video is 110 mm.

Yours is missing the disc back plate... makes it harder to get that socket on the joint with that in place.....
We are sure that your comment will be useful for many of our viewers.
No backplate on 307
That is real good , great tips , 💯
Why do anything with the drive shaft???
To assemble this mechanism back, you need to release the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut.
Since the shock absorber tension makes it difficult to put the ball joint on the lever.
thank you
